Cars with AL chassis will either need extremely durable protective coatings, or the cars will need to be washed almost daily in any area where salt is used on winter roads (when I was a mechanic on Navy LCAC, the AL hulls would ….. they do not have the crystalline structure of a metal, nor the disordered malleability of plastics, but rather a composite collection of both… kinda… sorta… but in strange ways that makes them a devil to model using handbook methods. …
